FPD-8010E: FAQ - the answers to the most common questions...
Below are the answers to the most commonly asked questions regarding the FPD-8010E analysis software for use with Prescale film. These are summarized below
and can be accessed individually by clicking on each one:
Should I save the data every time I measure the pressure?
Saving the recorded data is recommended whenever you want to establish a historical record of the measurements or when you need an image along with
the related data computed by the FPD-8010E software, to be stored reliably and durably. The Prescale film is, to some extent, photosensitive,
hygroscopic, and partly also thermosensitive (as explained in the manual, the conditions in which it is stored are crucial). Therefore, over the long
term, the film may alter the impressed image, especially since the chemical reagents deposited on the film tend to continue their reaction. Return to FAQ list
Why are updates sometimes made available for the FPD-8010E software?
Because Fuji Film sometimes makes improvements and optimizations to certain elements of its FPD-8010E analysis software. Return to FAQ list
Can I use a scanner with higher resolution?
No, the FPD-8010E analysis software is configured and guaranteed by Fuji Film to work only with the recommended compatible scanners. Return to FAQ list
Do you provide maintenance services?
No, regular maintenance is not required. The FPD-8010E software performs calibration upon system startup to check for variations in characteristics and deterioration of the scanner. Return to FAQ list
Can I purchase just the software for the FPD-8010E system?
No. The accessory components (scanner cover and calibration sheet) are necessary for the proper use and calibration of the system, including the
compatible scanner (which can be purchased separately). For any use of the computed data from the FPD-8010E system on other PC systems,
potentially equipped with different software, information is provided regarding the structure of the related MPA file. Return to FAQ list
