- register the license code obtained with the purchase of the application and make it operational;
- use the application by inspecting exposed Prescale films. return to FAQ list
How is Prescale Mobile different from the FPD-8010E Analysis System?
The most substantial difference refers to how the two analysis systems "read" the Prescale film.
The FPD-8010E system captures Prescale film with the scanner, while the Prescale Mobile application captures film with the mobile device's camera function.
For further differences, consult the product documentation, also available on this site, or contact the sales office. return to FAQ list
Should I purchase the Prescale Mobile application or the FPD-8010E system?
Although basic analytical functions are common between the two systems, the Prescale Mobile application has many more efficient functions for inspection tasks, while the FPD-8010E system has many detailed analysis functions.
For more information, please consult the product documentation for both devices, also available on this site. return to FAQ list
Can I make a copy of the supplied calibration sheet?
No. Since it is practically impossible to correctly reproduce all the colors represented on the calibration sheet, the pressure value acquired by the mobile device's chamber would not be calculated correctly. return to FAQ list
FAQ Prescale Mobile: Answers to questions about using the application
Can the data resulting from inspection actions be sent to a PC?
Yes. Downloading data to a PC can be done via iTune (via cable), or via iCloud.
For more information, see the Prescale Mobile application reference manual.
“Export” transfers the values/results measured and displayed in the application.
“MpaMap” transfers the pressure value for each pixel of the pressure map that has been created.
Both are generated in .csv format (similar to that of the FPD-8010E).
For more information, refer to the product documentation. return to FAQ list
What is the recommended lighting condition for capturing the image?
The following are the lighting conditions for acquiring the image from Prescale film with the mobile device, required for optimal image acquisition:
- recommended light source: white LED/fluorescent lamp;
- recommended lighting: 500 - 900Lux;
- recommended color temperature: 5,000 - 6,500K;
(*) Equivalent to "ordinary visual work" to "fine visual work" ambient light conditions, as per system standard (JIS Z 9110:2010). return to FAQ list
What happens if you perform an acquisition outside the recommended lighting conditions?
The color tone may not be correct and the pressure value may therefore not be measured correctly. return to FAQ list
Can I inspect Prescale film when it is "curled"?
If the Prescale film fails to adhere to the calibration sheet due to curling, it will not be possible to measure the pressure value correctly.
If possible, place a weight on the uncolored part of the image, for example, so that it does not come off the calibration sheet. return to FAQ list
Can I continue to use the license even if I replace the mobile device?
After disabling the license from the original mobile application settings, you can continue to use it by installing the application on the new mobile device and re-registering the license.
The license expiration date is not changed. return to FAQ list
Can I transfer analytics data from one mobile device to another?
The data is saved locally on the mobile device, so it is not transferred to the new device. return to FAQ list
Can I continue to use the same data if I change the license from annual to perpetual?
